What is RRB JE Exam?
Railway Recruitment Board - Junior Engineer, also known as RRB JE in common language, is one of the popular government services of India. This exam is conducted for the post of Junior Engineer in Indian Railways. In simple language, it recruits engineers from various technical and non-technical fields like civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics and IT sectors. RRB JE exam is conducted every year by RRB, this exam consists of a total of two papers, CBT 1 and CBT 2, both these papers are taken in online mode.

1. Account Creation
- To apply for RRB JE exam, the candidate needs to visit the official website of RRB.
- After visiting the site the candidate should click on the "Apply" button and select the "Create an Account" option.
- Next a form will appear on the screen, where the candidate needs to fill in personal information, contact details, and set a password. Afterward they should click the "Create an Account" button.
2. Login
- Once the account is created the candidate will be redirected to the homepage. Here they need to click on the "Apply" button and then select the "Already have an account" option.
- The candidate should enter the registered mobile number or email and password to log in.
3. Application Form
After successful logging in the candidate needs to choose the RRB according to the vacancy and preferences and click "Next" button.
A form will appear on the screen, where the candidate needs to fill in the following details accurately:
- Personal Details: Fill in community details, present address, permanent address, category details, and then click "Save and Next" button.
- Other Details: In this section the candidate needs to fill in category details, EBC details (if applicable), bank details and click "Save and Next" button.
- Educational Qualification: Here the candidate must enter their educational qualifications and click "Next" button.
- Document Upload: The candidate needs to upload a recent scanned passport-size photo and signature as per the specifications and then click "Save and Next" button.
- Preference: In this section the candidate needs to select the post, zone, and PU (Production Unit) based on the selected RRB. Candidates can choose one or more posts. Afterward select the exam group and click "Save & Preview" button.
- Submit: After reviewing the form for accuracy, the candidate should click the "Submit" button.
4. Fees Payment
Once the form is submitted the candidate needs to proceed with fee payment using any available payment mode.

2. Computer Based Test (CBT) - 2
Computer Based Test (CBT) - 2 is the second stage of the RRB JE exam. after passing CBT 1 candidates are elegible to appear for this stage. RRB JE Selection Process
The selection process of RRB Junior Engineer (JE) takes place in below stages:
- CBT 1 Answer Key: A some days after the CBT 1 exam RRB releases the answer key for the RRB JE exam.
- CBT 1 Result: After the CBT 1 answer key the result for CBT 1 is declared.
- CBT 2 Exam: Candidates who qualify in CBT 1 are deemed eligible by RRB to appear for the CBT 2 exam.
- CBT 2 Answer Key: After the CBT 2 exam the answer key for CBT 2 is released.
- CBT 2 Result: The final result (based only on CBT 2) is declared by RRB.
- Document Verification: Once the final result of the RRB JE exam is announced, only the qualified candidates are called for document verification. Candidates are sent to the next stage only if their documents are found valid.
- Medical Test: After successful document verification the candidate must submit a standard medical report. Only those candidates who are found physically and medically fit are selected for JE post.
- Final Selection: Candidates who pass all stages are issued a joining letter by the official railway authorities.
